Shakespeare in Hollywood

The play revolves around the chaotic production of the 1935 movie of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which starred Dick Powell, Olivia de Havilland and James Cagney.
It’s 1934, and Shakespeare’s most famous fairies, Oberon and Puck, have magically materialised on the set of a Warner Brothers movie, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Smitten by the glitz and glamour of show biz, the two are ushered onto the silver screen to play (who else?) themselves.
With a little help from a feisty flower, a blonde bombshell and a movie mogul, the results are raucous, to say the least…
It’s a ‘don’t miss’ screwball comedy with supernatural elements.
This play is a fun-filled romp that pays homage to both Shakespeare and the golden age Hollywood.
It perfectly blends literary charm and cinematic spectacle, offering plenty of laughs and entertainment.
