Last seen in its entirety in the Society’s 2008 production, HMS Pinafore is Gilbert & Sullivan’s first blockbuster initially playing in both England and America.

Unlike its predecessor The Sorcerer, it is a tale of love that crosses both class and rank. A lowly sailor in love with the Captain’s daughter, who is promised to a British lord who has been promoted to run the British Navy but has never been to sea. What could possibly go wrong???

This production uses the original words and music but has been given some new twists by TASA Bravo award winner and well-known director/actor Barry Hill, musical director Jacqui Maynard, fresh from her musical contribution to The Stirling Player’s production of Nell and Celeste Barone, choreographer for The Met’s High Society last year.
