Galleon Theatre’s entry, directed once again by Andrew Clark—nominated for his previous festival work (The Duck Variations in 2023 and The Last Act is a Solo in 2024)— Where Are You Going, Hollis Jay? is a charming, funny look at first love.
Hollis and Ellie are uni students who want to take their friendship further… but neither knows how to say it. The twist? We hear all their inner thoughts, making for some beautifully awkward and hilarious moments!
Starring Aled Proeve and Veronika Wlodarczyk, with sound design by Warren McKenzie, this one’s full of heart and humour. Don’t miss it!
Deadset’s contribution is a gritty drama, Ravaged, based on the true stories of the Black Saturday Bushfires in Victoria, 2009.
The cast for See if I Care, St Jude’s Players‘ include Deborah Walsh, Rhonda Grill, Allison Scharber, Kaila Barton and Vicky Horwood. Written by Cherry Vooght and directed by Norm Caddick, it’s the story of two ordinary elderly women bound together in an unsentimental, wearing relationship in which they talk in snatches, think aloud and bicker without rancour. They depend on this time because it makes life bearable.
