13: THE MUSICAL
11 October 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
$25Following their award nominated and critically acclaimed productions of Singin’ in the Rain, Little Shop of Horrors, Xanadu, and Oliver!, the Adelaide Theatre Academy is barnstorming back with 13 brilliant reasons to go to the theatre.
13: The Musical is a hilarious coming-of-age story about discovering that “cool” is sometimes where we least expect it.
13 features a musical score which brilliantly evokes the excitement, passion and anxiety of the teenage years. It boasts wonderful songs with a universal appeal such as What It Means To Be A Friend, The Lamest Place In The World, and A Little More Homework.
The book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn is a series of vignettes which explore 13-year-old Evan Goldman’s efforts to deal with culture shock and dramatic life changes. From school hallways to the movie theatre, each scene gives us additional insights to a delightful array of vibrant and fascinating characters.
Matt Houston (Director) says, “13 is all about the emotional ups and downs of high school. It’s a wonderful story about finding friends in places you never expected. It’s about meeting people from diverse communities. Whether they be the cool kids, the geeks, or even the goths, Evan is on journey towards understanding who his real friends are.”
13: The Musical has an outstanding creative team which is led Matt Houston as Director, Georgia Brass & Jemma Allen as Choreographers, and Millicent Sarre and Ben Francis as Musical Directors.
13 is on stage at the Goodwood Institute from October 10 – 11 for four performance only.
