Thank you to those groups who supported the Society’s quiz night on the 14th. Venture Theatre Company won the quiz and the musical section. Galleon Theatre Group were only two points behind, so congratulations to them also.

On the topic of funds, memberships renewals were sent out on the 14th April. At the moment there are still 25 overdue! Those in the insurance scheme are the most affected because when their membership lapses the insurance cover for them is void. Please remember that without funds we can not operate.

The insurance policy is due for renewal on June 15th. Reminders will be sent out to participating groups in the near future. The premium is still $162. Any other groups are welcome to join the scheme.

The postal address for the Society will be changing as we are going to utilise a post office box. This is being done for a number of reasons one of which is the fact that my residential address will be changing in the next few months.

There was a classic example of ineffectual advertising by amateur groups in the Saturday Advertiser. The seven member group ‘ads’ were scattered over three pages and amounted to $800 worth. There is a lot of ground work to do on this project but we think it will all be worthwhile and beneficial to advertisers. It is encouraging to find that some of our members support the idea even in its early stages.

Membership cards have arrived after having been reprinted and will be despatched immediately to the waiting few. It is very encouraging to see that member groups are offering, in the majority of cases, a concession to fellow members. A full list of the available concessions will be printed as soon as we get the renewals.
Add BURNSIDE PLAYERS and SALISBURY THEATRE COMPANY.
