Welcome to the New Year and the first edition of ENCORE for 1988.
As you will have no doubt noticed, we are now using larger envelopes in the hope that your magazine will arrive in a more easily readable format. Can we therefore fit more into this envelope? Probably, and at the A.G.M., those present will hopefully discuss the possibility of sending more than one copy to each member Group, should they request it.
On the very topic of the A.G.M. a mistake was made by yours faithfully, with respect to the date. The correct date is of course the 26th of February.
A list has also been started for those of you who are unable to come to the workshops because of the dates being unsuitable. If there is anyone else out there who would like to go on this list, you can either ring me, 297 9124 (beware: sometimes there is an answering machine) or Margaret Dixon, 298 5578, A/h. It will then be possible to arrange a more suitable time.
Interest in the workshops is a steady but by no means overwhelming. Don’t be apprehensive. The age group of those who are going at the moment is from 16 to 55.
Don’t forget, the Group Insurance Scheme is still available.
The popularity of this magazine and the potential readership, has led the Society to consider including advertising to offset our costs. As a first option we would like to offer the space to any of our members who are in business and wish to reach our other members through this medium. Obviously, it is not intended to fill the magazine with product advertising, but there are members of groups are in a business providing items which may be beneficial to the whole Society Membership.
Enjoy the Fringe and the Festival.
