Director Di Mason and Assistant Director Jessica Corrie led an impressive production team in order to achieve such a colourful and thoroughly entertaining end product with a huge cast of children and young people.
Costume Coordinators Paolo dal Pozzo and Di Mason together with their sewing and dressing teams can feel justifiably proud of the way the young performers presented on stage. It was a stunning highlight.
The lead role of Pollyanna was played with contained confidence and assurance by Lottie Mumford. Her character interpretation was consistent throughout and she addressed her audience with clarity.
Aislin Mowbray was a suitably stern and humourless Aunt Polly Harrington and Louise Guy as Nancy was effective and convincing as her maid.
Household cook Tilly was played by Georgina Krupka in a most convincing manner and with an obviously natural ease. A very good performance indeed.
The Town Gossips duo of Harriet Wolff and Lazuli Chittleborough were not only eye catching in their eminently fashionable finery but they remained in character throughout. Delightfully so!
Lewis Redwood waxed evangelical in stentorious fashion as Reverend Ford and Maddy Nyp was a convincing hypochondriac as the irascible Mrs. Snow. The reclusive Mr. Pendergast who ultimately thaws and adopts orphan Jimmy was ably played by Benny Woodrow.
But Orphan Boy Jimmy Bean, played to perfection by Jack Grosser, stole the show. His natural stage presence and empathy with his character simply stood out. He had the doting audience of Mums and Dads in the palm of his hand. And he went about his task in the play with consummate ease.
