SUMMARY:Living Together
DESCRIPTION:AUDITIONS for LIVING TOGETHER \, Directed by Les Zetlein \nLiving Together by Alan Ayckbourn is the second play in Ackybourn’s comedy trilogy The Norman Conquests\, each about the same traumatic family weekend in a Victorian house and garden. Living Together covers the action in the living room. \nThree female and three male Characters. Note: Character ages are approximate only. \nANNIE: The Cinderella of the family. Stage age mid-20’s to mid-30’s. Careworn\, generally acquiescent\, can get angry if pressed. Impish sense of humour. \nREG: Stage age late 30’s to mid-40’s. Annoyingly upbeat\, makes ‘Dad’ jokes. Under his wife Sarah’s thumb. Very serious about the board games he invents and makes. \nSARAH: Stage age late 30’s to mid-40’s. Likes to be in command. Fussy and bossy. Mother to several small children. \nNORMAN: Stage age mid-30’s to mid-40’s. Intelligent\, lazy\, sarcastic\, self-centred. Womaniser\, and stirs up trouble at other’s expense. \nRUTH: Stage age mid-30’s to mid-40’s. Hard-working\, long-suffering wife of Norman. Awake to him\, but is prepared to forgive up to a point. Short-sighted but usually too vain to wear her glasses. No children. \nTOM: Stage age around 40. Local vet\, looks after Annie’s cat. Well-built and solid\, slow in movement and thought. Diffident and earnest. Thinks he loves Annie but can’t get round to telling her. The last to catch on to things. \nAUDITION REQUIREMENTS:\nAuditionees will be seen individually BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. \nThere is no need to memorise anything as script extracts will be provided at the audition. \nTo book an audition go to\nhttps://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1076721 \nFor further information please contact the Director\, Les Zetlein\, on 0401 125 999 or email les@pippick.com \nDATES OF PRODUCTION\n2nd – 4th May – then 9th – 11th May 2024\, St Jude’s Hall\, Brighton.

SUMMARY:Oliver Twisted
DESCRIPTION: Written by Larry Waller.  Adapted from Dickens’ original classic story \nDirected by Larry Waller \nOliver Twisted\, written and directed by Larry Waller\, creates a very different version of Dickens’ original tale\, using a mix of adventure\, shock and mirth. \nBorn into the care of authorities\, and finding himself in a Young Offenders Institution\, young Oliver Twisted awaits his release and the hope of a new family.  Oliver’s naivety and vulnerability lead to his escape into the real world where\, lost and alone\, he finds himself drawn into the seedy and dangerous urban environment of the big city.  What will become of this young man? Are those around him friends or foe? Homeless\, and exploited by manipulative adults\, who can he trust? \nThe wonderful ensemble cast of adult and child actors will immerse the audience in time; in the Here\, Now\, There and Then of the realities of life on the street.  Not a musical\, and true to the original text of Charles Dickens\, this very different adaptation is not to be missed.
