SUMMARY:Festen
DESCRIPTION:“Festen is a landmark play” – The Guardian\, London \n\n“Festen is the most powerful play to be seen in London at the moment. Its ability to shock its audience into silence is second to none and\, by the end\, they stagger out of the auditorium stunned.” – British Theatre Guide  \nHelge is the patriarch of a chain of restaurants and it’s his 70th birthday. Surrounded by his wife\, two sons\, daughter and close family friends all is ready for a celebratory dinner at his large country estate. The only person missing is eldest son Christian’s twin sister\, Linda\, who recently committed suicide. Her painful absence leaves a jagged hole in the festivities. In the middle of dinner Christian stands to give the first toast. In order to decide which speech to give he asks his father to choose one of two envelopes. The choice leads Christian to make a startling accusation and\, even as the disbelieving guests are choosing sides\, this powerful play slowly unwraps the truth. \nDavid Eldridge’s compelling play is adapted from Thomas Vinterborg’s screenplay of the 1998 Danish Dogma film Festen\, also known as The Celebration. Eldridge’s stage adaptation received its world premiere in London in 2004. Festen is directed by Nick Fagan and features outstanding cast including Joh Hartog\, Adrian Barnes\, Cheryl Douglas\, Brant Eustice\, Sienna Fagan\, Gary George\, Claire Keen\, Stuart Pearce\, Geoff Revell\, Russell Slater\, Georgia Stockham\, Stephen Tongun\, Nigel Tripodi and Lyn Wilson. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Once Upon a Crime PLUS The Case of Alex Hansen
DESCRIPTION:Once Upon a Crime by Flip Kobler & Cindy Marcus (Juniors – aged 10+) \nWill justice be served in this hilarious fairy-tale courtroom play packed with characters we all know and love?  The audience serves as the jury and determines how the play ends!  Goldilocks is the defendant\, on trial for breaking and entering. Is she guilty or innocent?  With multiple endings to cover each possible outcome\, the audience gets to decide her ultimate fate. \nPLUS \nThe Case of Alex Hansen by Alan Haehnel (Seniors – aged 14+ approximately) \nAlex Hansen awakes to find himself on trial for his life. His legal representation is terrible; he’s already been deemed guilty; the courtroom proceedings are chaotic to the point of dark comedy. All seems lost\, except when Alex gets the momentary sense that someone\, somewhere\, is advocating for him. In the play’s surprising climax\, Alex experiences a profound and moving redemption \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
