SUMMARY:Gypsy - A Musical Fable
DESCRIPTION:Gypsy is one of the greatest musicals of all time\, with some of the most memorable tunes ever written\, including “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” and “Let Me Entertain You”. Set in the world of burlesque and vaudeville in the 1920s and 30s\, this is the story of a domineering mother’s determination to pursue fame and stardom for her daughters.\nRose is the classic stage-mother: outrageous\, brash\, tough and larger than life; and her dream for success is a dream she lives through her daughters. Rose’s fanatic determination pushes her family’s loyalty to breaking point\, but from the most unlikely of places emerges one of the twentieth century’s most illustrious and ingenious entertainers – Gypsy Rose Lee.\nAs we witness this transformation\, we see a clear-eyed celebration of the complex impulses that drive all dreamers and wanna-be performers.

SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a romantic comedy play that takes place in a forest inhabited by fairies. The play has four main plots that revolve around the conflicts between the fairy King and Queen\, the romantic troubles among four young lovers\, the comical performances by a group of amateur actors\, and the transformation of Bottom the weaver into an ass. All these plots are interconnected by the central theme of love and its complexities. The play is known for its memorable characters\, including Puck\, the mischievous fairy\, and the mortal lovers Hermia\, Helena\, Lysander\, and Demetrius. \nSCCAS’s production is being directed by Elise Hall and Hope Meffle\, who are both passionate about performing. They met during SCCAS’s Chicago\, and went on to star in Beauty and the Beast. Although Midsummer will be their first foray into directing\, they have both performed the play and have the understanding necessary to present Shakespeare in a relatable way for both actors and audience\, while still preserving the magic of the text. \nNote:  Monday 26th June is a preview performance with all tickets $15

SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:Written By:         William Shakespeare \nDirectors:            Elise Hall & Hope Meffle \nSynopsis:             Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a romantic comedy play that takes place in a forest inhabited by fairies. \nPlease note there are no ‘lead’ roles\, as A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a strong ensemble play. Certain roles\, such as Oberon and Titania\, and the Four Lovers require more speaking than roles such as the Mechanicals\, but this will be made clear to auditionees at Info Night. We have also split the characters into two sections—the Human Court and the Fairy Court—and organised those two sections into smaller sub-categories.
