SUMMARY:Presidents' Forum
DESCRIPTION:What is the Presidents’ Forum?\nThe Presidents’ Forum is a networking event for Presidents\, Artistic Directors\, and Board Members of South Australia’s amateur and community theatre companies to discuss the following topic with us: \nWhy does TASA exist and what can we be doing differently and better to support our Theatre Community and Members? \nTASA’s core objective is to foster\, stimulate and help provide facilities for the development of interest in Community and Amateur Theatre and to encourage and assist with all incidental activities. \nWe have been endeavouring to do this well for more than 30 years\, but much has changed in recent years and we need your help to make sure we have a clear understanding of what you think TASA could\, should and must be doing to support you better. This is your association and we are determined to make sure it is delivering what you want and need. We can’t do this without your input. \nAs such\, we invite you to join us on Sunday June 30th to participate in our Presidents’ Forum. \nWe will provide supper & drinks so all you need to bring is yourself\, some members of your committee and a willingness to challenge what and how TASA is delivering. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Going Postal
DESCRIPTION:AUDITIONS: – Sunday 30th June at 3pm.\nBakehouse Theatre\, 255 Angas Street\, Adelaide. \nFORMAT:\nAuditions are conducted in groups\, doing a “cold” read from excerpts of the script. You do NOT need to make a specific individual appointment\, but you do need to show up ON TIME.\nIt is not a requirement\, but you may find it useful to familiarise yourself with the book\, or with any other works from Terry Pratchett. It will help you get a feel for the show.\nIf\, after the group reading you would like the Director to see an individual monologue from you\, please let us know when you come in to auditions. Monologues should be no longer than 1min. \nPERFORMANCE DATES: Nov. 20\, 21\, 22\, 23\, 27\, 28\, 29\, 30. \nREHEARSALS: \nWe are trying an exciting new way of working by auditioning early and then getting actors to learn their lines before “real” rehearsals start. \nInitial rehearsals:   July 14th & 21st. (reading & character discussion)\nThen a break during which actors should learn their lines.\nRehearsals then continue on Tues\, Thurs and Sunday from September 1st.\nIf you are successful in your audition a full rehearsal schedule will be given out. \nPLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST BY EMAIL\n(so that we know how many numbers to expect) \nABOUT THE SHOW: \nMoist von Lipwig is a con artist\, a fraud and a man faced with a life choice: be hanged\, or put Ankh-Morpork’s ailing postal service back on its feet. It is a tough decision. \nWith the help of a golem who has been at the bottom of a hole in the ground for over two hundred years\, a pin fanatic and Junior Postman Groat\, he’s got to see that the mail gets through. In taking on the evil chairman of the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company and a midnight killer\, he’s also got to stay alive.\nGetting a date with Adora Belle Dearheart would be nice\, too. \nIn the mad world of the mail\, can a criminal succeed where honest men have failed and died?\nPerhaps there’s a shot at redemption for a man who’s prepared to push the envelope…. \nCREW ROLES:\nIf you are not interested in acting but would like to help backstage or on FOH\, please attend at the audition time and have a chat to our Stage Manager\, Andrew Zeuner. He would LOVE to hear from you. \nACTING ROLES AVAILABLE:\nMany and varied – too many to list here\, but you need to be prepared to accept any role/roles you are offered. This is all part of the fun in a Pratchett show.

SUMMARY:Seven Little Australians
DESCRIPTION:Written By: Ethel Turner\, adapted for stage by Joan Leslie and Di Mason\nDirected By: Di Mason\nAssistant Director: Sonja Zodrow \n‘Seven Little Australians’ is the story of The Woolcot family – Captain John Woolcot from the N.S.W. Regiment\, his second young wife Esther\, and his seven children and their adventures in the late 19th Century Sydney. \nThe family lives in their large home by the Paramatta River\, lovingly named ‘MISRULE’ . Captain Woolcot tries to run his household with regimental discipline\, but his rules and regulations are no match for his seven fun-loving children. The war of wills between the Captain and his troop of independent minded sons and daughters is tempered by gentle guidance of the children’s kindhearted Stepmother\, Esther. \nVivacious and unruly\, Judy is the ringleader and leads her six siblings into constant trouble. She is eventually sent away to boarding school by her father in an attempt to improve her behaviour. Judy is determined to return home at all costs. She finally makes it\, by train and on foot but has become ill during the difficult journey home. She needs to leave Sydney to recuperate and an invitation for Esther and the children to stay at her parent’s property ‘Yarrahappini’ provides a wonderful opportunity for a country holiday for them all. Surprisingly\, the Captain\, left alone at ‘Misrule’\, misses his family. \nA terrible tragedy reveals the true strength of the family’s love.

SUMMARY:Vintage Hitchcock - A Live Radio Play
DESCRIPTION:Synopsis\nMurder\, mayhem and nostalgia collide in Vintage Hitchcock: A live radio play. A retelling of three of Alfred Hitchcock’s most famous stories — The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927)\, Sabotage (1936)\, and The 39 Steps (1935)— in the style of an old-time radio broadcast. Complete with sound effects and vintage commercials\, all performed live onstage\, it will take you back to the 1940’s\, and\, as it’s narrator announces eerily at the beginning\, will ‘put murder back in the home- where it belongs’. So\, relax\, lean back and enjoy yourself – until the coroner comes… \nThe Lodger; a serial killer known as ‘The Avenger’ is stalking the streets of London in 1888. Have Mr and Mrs Bunting unwittingly taken as a lodger the very same man? And what will happen to their beautiful daughter Daisy\, who is the very type of girl that the Avenger chooses to target… \nSabotage; Mr Anton Verloc owns a cinema in the heart of London with his American wife\, Winnie and her teenage brother\, but this is just a cover for his terrorist activities. Will the police discover his secret before his most daring plan is put into action? \nThe 39 steps; Richard Hannay becomes embroiled in an international spy ring known only as ‘The 39 Steps’. Murder soon follows\, and after a case of mistaken identity he must elude the police.
