SUMMARY:Diary of a Wimpy Kid: the Musical
DESCRIPTION:Cardijn College Marian Campus presents the SA Premiere of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: the Musical at Futures Church Reynella. \nMiddle school\, ugh. It’s the worst. But Greg is determined not to be at the bottom of the popularity chart. He’ll leave that to his weird neighbour\, Fregley. Or maybe Greg’s best friend\, Rowley Jefferson. But it’s not going to be Greg…no way. \nJeff Kinney’s popular character takes centre stage as Greg’s cartoon diary becomes a hilarious and heartfelt musical. Will Greg’s plans to become popular lead him to sacrifice his one true friend? Can anyone avoid the dreaded Cheese Touch? Grab a hall pass and don’t be late for an adventure familiar to anyone who actually survived middle school.

SUMMARY:Mary Poppins
DESCRIPTION:Written By: \nCreative Team: Director – Joe Russell\nMusic Director – Robert Young\nChoreographer – Mandy Russell \n\nMARY POPPINS – everyone’s favourite practically perfect nanny flies from the page and screen to the stage of the Shedley Theatre from 23rd to 25th October 2025 \nOne of the most beloved Disney films of all time comes to life in a spectacular stage adaptation that has captured hearts around the world. Set in London\, 1910\, the story begins with Bert\, the cheerful jack-of-all-trades\, who introduces us to the Banks family — and their need for a miracle. Enter Mary Poppins: with her signature blend of magic and common sense\, she turns the family’s world upside down (and maybe inside out). From chalk-drawing adventures to rooftop dances and heartfelt moments\, Mary helps the children — and their parents — rediscover the importance of family\, imagination\, and kindness. \nAnything can happen if you let it — and with Mary Poppins\, it certainly does! \n\nInformation Session: \n\nAudition Information: https://www.trybooking.com/DBWLO \n\n\n\nAudition Information #:0\n\n\nDate:\n21/06/2025\n\n\nTime From – Time to:\n10:00 – 17:30\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nCharacter Descriptions #:0\n\n\nRole Name:\nMary Poppins\n\n\nGender:\nFemale\n\n\nStage Age:\n\n\n\nRole Information:\nJane and Michael Banks’s new nanny. SUMMARY:2025 One Act Play Festival
DESCRIPTION:Three one-act plays presented by Galleon Theatre Group\, Deadset Theatre and St Judes Players… \n\nGalleon Theatre’s entry\, directed once again by Andrew Clark—nominated for his previous festival work (The Duck Variations in 2023 and The Last Act is a Solo in 2024)— Where Are You Going\, Hollis Jay? is a charming\, funny look at first love.\n\n\nHollis and Ellie are uni students who want to take their friendship further… but neither knows how to say it. The twist? We hear all their inner thoughts\, making for some beautifully awkward and hilarious moments!\n\n\nStarring Aled Proeve and Veronika Wlodarczyk\, with sound design by Warren McKenzie\, this one’s full of heart and humour. Don’t miss it!\n\n\nDeadset’s contribution is a gritty drama\, Ravaged\, based on the true stories of the Black Saturday Bushfires in Victoria\, 2009.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe cast for See if I Care\, St Jude’s Players‘ include Deborah Walsh\, Rhonda Grill\, Allison Scharber\, Kaila Barton and Vicky Horwood. Written by Cherry Vooght and directed by Norm Caddick\, it’s the story of two ordinary elderly women bound together in an unsentimental\, wearing relationship in which they talk in snatches\, think aloud and bicker without rancour. They depend on this time because it makes life bearable. \nA poignant story full of pathos\, memories and incidental chat; a beautiful tale.

SUMMARY:A Stretch of the Imagination
DESCRIPTION:SOLUS Productions returns to Holden Street Theatre this June with award-winning playwright\nJack Hibberd’s poignant\, captivating and poetic one man play. A Stretch of the Imagination\npremiered at The Pram factory\, Carlton in 1972. It is regarded by most connoisseurs as\nHibberd’s finest work\, embodying a radical advance in the character of Australian theatre\,\nembracing and remoulding as it does many of the strong strands in theatrical modernism. This play is a surreal black comedy\, which introduces us to the painfully lonely world of Monk O’Neill\, one of the great comic creations of Australian dramatic literature. (Made famous by Max Gilles)\nMonk’s colourful\, rambling monologue cuts to the quick of what Australia once was and what one day it could become. Monk is a distinctly unpleasant man. But he is also\, at the end of the day\, a very honest one and there is a strong impression that he has gone into this voluntary exile\, living in a humpy on One Tree Hill (he has actually chopped down the tree in a fit of pique)\, in order to confront his past and through this confrontation to explore his own creativity – in effect\, to create himself all over again using the raw materials of the life he has already lived. Beneath Monk’s aggression\, crudity and callous rejection of other human beings\, there is despair. He has lacked the courage to commit to intimacy… and is now on a quest to find his Self. But his quest is paradoxical: he must learn to be alone\, but literal aloneness is both solipsistic and narcissistic and can only result in a distorted view of the Self. \nBob Crimeen said “Hibberd’s masterpiece of hallucinations and shattered dreams gives the\nactor the chance to prove his mettle in tragic-comedy”\nNeil Jillet described the play as “probably the most beautiful Australian play ever written” \nDo not miss Solus Productions staging of this iconic piece of work \nmailto: marclement11@gmail.com \nTo Book tickets: A Stretch of the Imagination Ticket Bookings
