SUMMARY:Accidental Death of an Anarchist
DESCRIPTION:Written to show up and send up institutional corruption after an actual event\, Dario Fo’s 1970 farce ‘Accidental Death of an Anarchist’ remains relevant\, allowing us to laugh in the face of high level cover ups. \nThe play begins with a sly yet charming ‘maniac’ being interrogated at Milan police headquarters. By impersonating a range of characters including a judge\, he outwits bumbling police and begins to expose the truth behind a recent ‘accidental’ death in custody of a political activist.

SUMMARY:Noises Off
DESCRIPTION:Written by Michael Frayn\nDirected by David Sinclair \nCast: Julie Quick\, Peter Davies\, Thomas Filsel\, Ian Rigney\, Brad Martin\, Robyn Brooks\, Cassidy Gaiter\, Maxine Grubel and Jamie Wright. \nBrimming with slapstick comedy\, Noises Off is a delightful backstage farce! \nHave you ever wondered what it’s like backstage during the performance of a play? Sometimes\, its funnier behind the scenes than on the stage. \nAs the slapstick comedy “Nothing On” is touring the county theatre circuit in England in the 1960s\, the audience is treated to the dramas\, mishaps and interpersonal relationships that occur between the cast as they struggle to rehearse\, perform and tour the play. \nWith a philandering director in a love triangle\, an aging star and her toy boy and an elderly alcoholic actor in the mix chaos is sure to ensue! \nThe play progresses from flubbed lines and missed cues in the dress rehearsal to mounting friction between cast members in the final performance. Complete with slamming doors\, falling trousers\, and — of course — flying sardines!

SUMMARY:Bound
DESCRIPTION:Pulteney Grammar School is proud to present its 2023 Year 12 Drama production: Bound\, written by Jesse Briton. \nThe story follows the fortunes of six trawlermen and women as they embark on an ambitious maritime voyage. Compelled by the threat of bankruptcy\, the ageing fishing trawler called the Violet is forced out into treacherous weather. In doing so\, the crew risk both the oncoming storm\, and also their relationships with one another. Our production will transport the audience from the cold docks of Brixham to onboard the bustling Violet\, throwing them into a story filled with beauty and rough edges; of wellington boots and bittersweet sea shanties; the fight for survival\, and ultimately\, an exploration of humanity. \nGET SOCIAL WITH US! SUMMARY:Wasted Sunsets
DESCRIPTION:WASTED SUNSETS\nRumoured Productions presents Wasted Sunsets\, a poignant comedy by Mike Pitman. \n“Riding the wave of nostalgic reunions of famous rock bands\, some of whom disbanded decades ago\, ‘Lights out’ also seek to get back together.\nThe question is – why? What is their motivation? Is it just the money\, or is it maybe ego?\nOne last moment of glory\, perhaps? Or is it something else completely?” \nLead guitarist & songwriter Rick\, has been sent to the Bahamas to complete the newly reformed ‘Lights Out’ comeback album\, by writing the obligatory ‘hit single’\, as demanded by their record company. His already infamously prickly mood\, is not helped by the constant interruptions from the unexpected arrival of various band members\, wives\, managers and even journalists\, to his songwriting retreat. \nWill this ‘hit single’ ever get written? Will the journalist (Peta)\, uncover the inside truths about their previous disbandment? And what will transpire when the band heads off on their nine months long world tour? If there was bad blood between them before they broke up last time\, can they really survive this reunion? \nOnly one thing is for sure\, ‘Lights Out’ (Rick\, Brian\, Rog\, Geoff and Andy) are back\, and that means that anything could\, and probably will\, happen! Rumoured Productions would like you to come to The Parks Theatre Two\, 46 Cowan St\, Angle Park SA 5010\, at 8pm from 22nd to 26th August to find out. SUMMARY:Home\, I'm Darling
DESCRIPTION:This is the perceptively funny story of one woman’s quest to be an ideal 1950s housewife. Judy and Johnny are a little different and they love it. They’re 1950s enthusiasts who have taken role-playing to a new level. Johnny’s swapped meal prep and laundry for foot rubs and cocktail hour. Judy’s swapped a career and jeans for darning\, dusting and full skirts. \nIn a house complete with perfect pastel bathroom\, mid-century knickknacks and good old-fashioned home cooking\, the couple live out their ultimate\, nostalgic fantasy. But the 21st Century has a nasty habit of forcing its way into their pristine bubble. Whether it’s in the form of Johnny’s new boss\, the contemporary cost of living on a ‘50s budget\, or Judy’s critical mother (who lived through the ‘50s)\, the present insists on being dealt with. \nDirected by Jude Hines

It’s sure to be quite an experience! \nVenue: The Parks Theatre Two\, 46 Cowan St\, Angle Pk SA 5010\nTime: 8pm – 10:30pm inc 20 min interval\nPerformance Dates: 22/8 – 26/8/23 \nDirected & original music by: Mike Pitman\nCast: Gavin Cianci\, Gus Smith\, Mark Gulliford\, Rodney Hutton\, Sean Wellsmore\, Sahra Cresshull\, Lauren Weber\, Rick Williams\, Heidi-Rae Abbey & Mike Pitman.
