With only 460 tickets available for the season\, they are selling fast and will sell out! Tickets are $20 each and must be pre-booked.\n\nPlease note the earlier start time of 7pm!\nWe have a strict COVID management plan which we must adhere to. SUMMARY:Shakespeare Under the Skies: Much Ado About Nothing
DESCRIPTION:This Summer 2022 Butterfly Theatre are continuing with their tradition of bringing theatre experiences out of the theatre and into your space … since 2013. \nButterfly Theatre proudly presents Shakespeare’s much-loved Classic play: Much Ado About Nothing in a variety of stunning outdoor settings under the Skies this Summer 2022. Set in the Shakespearean period of the 1590s with period costuming but with the universal and timeless themes of romantic love and its trials and tribulations. \nDirected by Russell Slater who was recently onstage in Butterfly Theatre’s 2021 Shakespeare in the Bar/Park/Forest productions. Russell was founding Artistic Director for The Raw Shakespeare Project which produced upwards of 30 Shakespearean productions in the southern region. He is currently a Youth Theatre Educator in Onkaparinga via Raw Drama which is dedicated to creating meaningful theatre opportunities for young and emerging artists. Of Much Ado About Nothing Russell states “MAAN is one of Shakespeare’s most well-known\, and frequently performed plays. Often regarded as his most ‘accessible’ play due to it’s regular moulding to the modern ‘Rom-Com’ genre we all know\, love\, or loathe. In this production however\, we are looking to explore the broader\, and darker\, elements of this story … if you are familiar with Much Ado About Nothing\, I hope you enjoy the fresh\, rich approach to this performance. If you are new to Much Ado\, or even Shakespeare\, I hope you enjoy\, and hopefully awaken an appreciation for his works in performance.” \nOur large cast features many of Adelaide’s talented actors: Kate Anolak\, Chris Gun\, Thomas Filsell\, Nick Kennett\, Leah Lowe\, Kristen O’Dwyer\, John Rosen\, Bronwyn Ruciak\, Nadia Talotta\, Thomas Tassone\, Steven Turner. \nThe production will be enhanced by live musical performances from The Welkin Dance featuring musicians Matthew Lykos and Jodie O’Regan. Matthew and Jodie will be performing a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of Shakespearean songs and traditional Elizabethan and folk music before the performances.  \nGates/Doors open from 5:30 with musical performance from 6:00 and show starts at 6:30 finishing at 8:30 \nTo promote a Covid-Safe environment for all proof of Double vaccination Covid-19 status will be required by all attendees.

SUMMARY:Twentieth Century
DESCRIPTION:By Ben Hecht & Charles MacArthur (2004 adaptation by Ken Ludwig). Broadway ballyhoo meets Hollywood hustle! This comedy is set on the luxury train\, The Twentieth Century Limited\, travelling from Chicago to New York’s Grand Central Station. Aboard are egomaniacal theatre producer Oscar Jaffe\, desperately in need of a hit show\, and his former paramour and protégé\, volatile actress Lily Garland\, who abandoned him for a Hollywood career. Oscar is determined to sign her for his new show. Lily is just as determined to ignore his advances\, professional and personal. Trying to make sense of the chaos are his long-time and long-suffering assistants Webb and O’Malley. Other hilarious characters include George (Lily’s lover)\, Max (another ex-lover and producer) and a religious fanatic escaped from an institution.

SUMMARY:The Rivals
DESCRIPTION:Written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan\nDirected by Matthew Chapman\n\nThe Adelaide Repertory Theatre is excited to announce that we will be returning LIVE to the ARTS Theatre in December for a limited season of three performances. With only 460 tickets available for the season\, they are selling fast and will sell out! Tickets are $20 each and must be pre-booked.\n\nPlease note the earlier start time of 7pm!\nWe have a strict COVID management plan which we must adhere to. We ask that you sit in your assigned chequerboard seating\, keep physically distanced from one another\, use the provided hand sanitiser and do not attend the theatre if you are sick.\n\nAbout the play:\nIt’s 1775. A swashbuckling hero. A romantic beauty. A tortured lover. A damsel in distress. A jealous rival. A social-climbing aunt. A tyrannical father.\nAll are set to explode in a trip down to Bath\, in this beautiful comedy of manners…as in bad manners. Richard Brinsley Sheridan was England’s first celebrity playwright: controversy and excitement followed him everywhere. In The Rivals he turns to his infamous elopement with one Elizabeth Linely (in which Sheridan himself was disowned by his parents and made to fight three duels from jealous suitors and nearly resulted in his own death\, into a romp full of sparkling wit\, larger than life characters\, and…a pineapple?\n
