SUMMARY:Presidents' Forum
DESCRIPTION:What is the Presidents’ Forum?\nThe Presidents’ Forum is a networking event for Presidents\, Artistic Directors\, and Board Members of South Australia’s amateur and community theatre companies to discuss the following topic with us: \nWhy does TASA exist and what can we be doing differently and better to support our Theatre Community and Members? \nTASA’s core objective is to foster\, stimulate and help provide facilities for the development of interest in Community and Amateur Theatre and to encourage and assist with all incidental activities. \nWe have been endeavouring to do this well for more than 30 years\, but much has changed in recent years and we need your help to make sure we have a clear understanding of what you think TASA could\, should and must be doing to support you better. This is your association and we are determined to make sure it is delivering what you want and need. We can’t do this without your input. \nAs such\, we invite you to join us on Sunday June 30th to participate in our Presidents’ Forum. \nWe will provide supper & drinks so all you need to bring is yourself\, some members of your committee and a willingness to challenge what and how TASA is delivering. \n  \n

SUMMARY:I Forgot to Remember to Forget
DESCRIPTION:Australia/Australian Premiere\nFor the first time in Adelaide after a sell-out season at the True Colours Festival in Singapore 2018. An exciting collaboration co-created by performers from No Strings Attached who share their own lived experiences of acquiring a disability through illness\, injury or birth. \nWith touching insight\, I Forgot to Remember to Forget explores resilience\, how we deal with and accept change\, how sometimes we have to re-learn everything and how sometimes we forget it all. It is a reminder of our responsibility as friends\, family and a society to remember the value and place of the individual in community\, even when they themselves might not remember any more. Simply beautiful. \n\nThis is a work that has been gently and delicately brought to life and the result is a deeply touching and enchanting piece of theatre.\nShona Benson \n\nDevised\, Written and Directed by Alirio Zavarce \nCreated in collaboration with Michaela Cantwell\, Kathryn Hall\, Cassie Litchfield\, Kym Mackenzie and Duncan Luke \nProjections Matt Crook\, Brad Thompson\nComposer Tyson Olsen\nSet Design Shane Pope\nCostume Design Ashleigh Boyce

SUMMARY:Cash on delivery
DESCRIPTION:This fast paced British farce concerns a con artist who has duped the welfare authorities for years by claiming every type of benefit for the innumerable people he claims live at his address. Just when he decides to kill off many of the imaginary dole recipients because matters are getting a bit too risky\, welfare investigators show up. To outwit the investigators\, the con artist enlists help from one of his real lodgers and from his Uncle George. \nThere will be a video campaign to market the play.\nActors will be required to record pieces to camera and participate in a video trailer for marketing on social media. SUMMARY:The Mikado
DESCRIPTION:The story of The Mikado revolves around a young fellow named Nanki-Poo who has banished himself from the little town of Titipu. Nanki-Poo\, it seems\, has fallen in love with a beautiful young lady called Yum-Yum. Unfortunately\, Yum-Yum is engaged to be married to her guardian\, the tailor Ko-Ko. \nHowever\, when Nanki-Poo hears that Ko-Ko has been condemned to death for the capital crime of flirting\, he hastily returns to Titipu\, only to learn that Ko-Ko has not only been granted a reprieve but has been promoted to the post of Lord High Executioner. \nApparently\, those in power\, wishing to slow down the rash of executions\, reason that since Ko-Ko was next in line for execution\, he can’t cut off anyone else’s head until he cuts off his own! \nThe Mikado\, however\, soon takes notice of the lack of executions in Titipu and decrees that if no executions take place within the time of one month\, the city shall be reduced to the status of a village. \nKo-Ko\, desperate to avoid cutting off his own head\, vows to find a substitute\, and as luck would have it\, just at that moment\, Nanki-Poo wanders onto the stage with a rope determined to take his own life rather than live life without his beloved Yum-Yum. \nKo-Ko immediately seizes on this opportunity and offers the young lad one month of luxurious living at the end of which he would be relatively painlessly decapitated. Nanki-Poo agrees on the condition that he be married to Yum-Yum right away so that he can spend his last month in wedded bliss. \nBut just as the wedding celebration begins\, a law is discovered\, much to Yum-Yum’s distress\, which decrees that a condemned man’s wife must be buried alive with his corpse! \n\nWritten By: Gilbert & Sullivan\nDirector Nathan Quadrio\nMD Monique Warren \nInformation available in info pack after information night\nInformation night at: TIDC Performing Arts Studio \nMore information will be available after the information night \n  \n\n\n\nRole Name\nGender\nStage Age\nRole Information\nRange\n\n\nMikado\nMale\nOlder\nMikado of Japan\nBass\n\n\nNanki-Poo\nMale\nYoung\nHis son disguised as a wandering minstrel\nTenor\n\n\nKo-Ko\nMale\nOlder\nThe Lord High Executioner of Titipu\nBaritone\n\n\nPoo-Bah\nMale\nOlder\nLord High Everything else\nBaritone\n\n\nYum-Yum\nFemale\nYoung\nA ward of Ko-Ko\nSoprano\n\n\nPitti-Sing\nFemale\nYoung\nA ward of Ko-Ko\nMezzo-Soprano\n\n\nPeep-Bo\nFemale\nYoung\nA ward of Ko-Ko\nMezzo-Soprano\n\n\nKatasha\nFemale\nOlder\nAn elderly lady in love with Nanki-Poo\nContralto\n\n\nChorus of schoolgirls\, Nobles\, Guards and servants\nUndefined\nVaried\nVaried\nAny Range\n\n\n\n  \n  \n\n\n\nAudition Contact Name\nNathan Quadrio\n\n\nAudition Contact Email\nthe4river@gmail.com\n\n\n\nAuditions will be on Sunday 21st July from 8.30 for registration and group auditions\, then by appointment after that. \nLocation for auditions is the Parks Theatres

SUMMARY:Heathers
DESCRIPTION:This event is for anyone who wishes to be involved in Zest’s next major production – “Heathers the Musical”. We will provide information about the show\, characters\, rehearsal dates\, performance dates and audition details. Come along to register your interest in being involved both on and off stage. As this musical contains adult themes\, you must be 13 to be involved and 15 to audition. If you are under 18\, you will also require parental permission to be involved. There are roles for teenagers/young adults – mature adults. \nZest Theatre Group’s mission statement is \n\nTo encourage and nurture new talent\nTo mix those with experience with those looking for a beginning\nTo develop the ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage\n\nBased on the cult classic 1989 film\, this darkly delicious satire is a rowdy\, guilty-pleasure musical which takes an unflinching look at the joy and anguish of high school. Westerberg High is ruled by a shoulder-padded\, scrunchie-wearing posse: Heather\, Heather\, and Heather\, the hottest and cruellest girls in all of Ohio. Misfit Veronica Sawyer\, who hustles her way into this teenage power trifecta\, discovers that life in the Teflon crowd isn’t all that it seems. All bets are off when a darkly delicious stranger\, JD\, plans to put the Heathers in their place — six feet under. Heathers explores\, with biting satire\, empowerment and vulnerability in the relationships between friends\, lovers\, parents\, and school communities\, creating a show of high emotion. \nBrought to you by the award-winning creative team of Kevin Murphy (“Reefer Madness”\, “Desperate Housewives”)\, Laurence O’Keefe (“Bat Boy”\, “Legally Blonde”) and Andy Fickman (“Reefer Madness”\, “She’s the Man”). “Heathers The Musical” is a hilarious\, heartfelt and homicidal new show based on the greatest teen comedy of all time. We are introduced to Carole when she is 16 and pitching her first song (“It Might As Well Rain Until September”) to New York music producer Don Kirshner. Soon after\, she meets her future husband and creative collaborator\, Gerry Goffin. In a musical whirlwind\, the couple are married\, King gives birth to their first child and the duo make a name for themselves in the music business\, knocking out hit after hit. However\, while their careers are on the rise\, Carole’s personal life falls apart when Gerry announces that he wants an affair. As Carole tries to negotiate marriage\, adultery and personal happiness\, she is supported by friends and playful rivals\, Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. Although they all compete for number one hits on the pop chart\, Carole relies on their support to change her life and find her own voice. Set in the vibrant pop industry of the 1960s and early 1970s\, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical features a tapestry of musical hits from the creative song writing teams of King and Goffin\, Weil and Mann. \nPRODUCTION TEAM\nDirector:                     David Gauci\nMusical Director:       Peter Johns\nChoreographer:       Shenayde Wilkinson – Sarti \nFull details\, dialogue sides/ music\, character information and registration for audition can be found at www.davineproductions.com/beautiful
