SUMMARY:Vintage Hitchcock - A Live Radio Play
DESCRIPTION:Murder\, mayhem and nostalgia collide in Vintage Hitchcock: A live radio play. A retelling of three of Alfred Hitchcock’s most famous stories — The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927)\, Sabotage (1936)\, and The 39 Steps (1935)— in the style of an old-time radio broadcast. Complete with sound effects and vintage commercials\, all performed live onstage\, it will take you back to the 1940’s\, and\, as it’s narrator announces eerily at the beginning\, will ‘put murder back in the home- where it belongs’. So\, relax\, lean back and enjoy yourself – until the coroner comes… \nThe Lodger; a serial killer known as ‘The Avenger’ is stalking the streets of London in 1888. Have Mr and Mrs Bunting unwittingly taken as a lodger the very same man? And what will happen to their beautiful daughter Daisy\, who is the very type of girl that the Avenger chooses to target… \nSabotage; Mr Anton Verloc owns a cinema in the heart of London with his American wife\, Winnie and her teenage brother\, but this is just a cover for his terrorist activities. Will the police discover his secret before his most daring plan is put into action? \nThe 39 steps; Richard Hannay becomes embroiled in an international spy ring known only as ‘The 39 Steps’. Murder soon follows\, and after a case of mistaken identity he must elude the police. Together with his unwilling accomplice\, Pamela\, he must clear his name and stop British secrets being sent abroad.

SUMMARY:Seventeen
DESCRIPTION:By Matthew Whittet \nThe Theatre Guild concludes its 2019 season with Seventeen\, Matthew Whittet’s beautifully observant work about the strains of youth\, transformation and about letting go. \n\nSo what are you going to miss the most?\nThe library.  Free periods on Wednesday afternoons. Interschool debating tournaments and Mrs Frankenbaum.\nFrankenbaum?  Who smells like something crept up her frankenbaum and died years ago? \n\nOn the night of the last day of school\, five teenagers are celebrating.  No more homework\, no more teachers\, no more early mornings\, no more rules … \nBut\, just like breaking up\, growing up is hard to do.   And will things ever change? Who even wants to? \nOver the course of the night\, truths are revealed and passions unveiled as they drink\, dance\, shout and love.  Mike\, Sue\, Tom\, Edwina and Ronny must each come to terms with the world as they say goodbye – and hello – to each other\, and most importantly\, themselves. \nWritten for mature actors\, Matthew Whittet’s poignant play is both funny and sad\, uplifting and painfully awkward.   It captures the feeling of knowing that only comes with being seventeen\, tapping into the sometimes overwhelming feelings that come with looking back; not in anger\, but with pride and a little bit of sadness. \nSeventeen sees a cast of adult actors play a group of teenagers\, turning our notions of adulthood and adolescence on their head. \nWho says you’re only young once? \nCast:  Kate Anolak\, A J Bartley\, Lindsay Dunn\, Rebecca Kemp\, Lindy LeCornu and Allan Robins
