SUMMARY:Nobody's Fool
DESCRIPTION:Myrtle Banbury\, the queen of the romantic novel\, is back. \nYou may remember\, from 2024’s production Nobody’s Perfect\, Myrtle is in fact Leonard Loftis a divorced man\, living with his head strong\, but loving daughter Dee Dee and his scheming rascally father Gus. This time Leonard is faced with the problem of explaining the whereabouts of Myrtle as an investigative journalist TV presenter arrives to interview the famous author. With webcam\, ear pieces and speakers\, the family sets up an ill-fated three-way telephone call from Aunt Myrtle\, who is supposedly somewhere up the Amazon. \nTo add to the confusion the novelist’s former wife arrives\, having never met her ex-husband’s talented Aunt Myrtle – the ensuing chaos is fun for all!

SUMMARY:AUSTRALIA DAY
DESCRIPTION:The Australia Day committee is gearing up to put on the town’s biggest party – but they have a few issues of their own to sort out first. With everyone from the Greens to the local mayor to the CWA wanting a piece of the party pie\, it’s proving hard yakka to work out what an Aussie celebration should look like. Nothing is sacred as the national identity is put through the ringer in this thoroughly modern ripper of a comedy! \nContent Advice: Contains occasional coarse language.

SUMMARY:Spring Awakening
DESCRIPTION:By Frank Wedekind \ntranslated by Edward Bond \ndirected by Jessie Chugg. \nWritten in 1891\, Spring Awakening is a play that explores teenagers inner turmoil as the adults in their lives enforce repressive atitudes towards sexuality and sex education. We follow Melchior\, Moritz and Wendla as they question\, and eventually refuse adult authority. This repressive authority in question ultimately leads our young characters to tragedy.

SUMMARY:A Rock In The Limbus
DESCRIPTION:Sitting alone in solitude for millennia\, roasting in the warm sun\, chilling in the cool nights\, a product of entropy and science. Existing tall and sturdy in the outback a few kilometres away from Alice Springs\, a rock. A geological wonder of abiotic existence. It sits undisturbed\, unnoticed\, unregistered for its mildly out of place complexion\, until the pests arrive. The infestation to the planet\, the weed that’s spread from continent to continent. Humans. \nWhen word spreads through a myriad of ones and zeros with messages of conspiracy\, doubt\, excitement\, desire\, curiosity\, the consequences are made clear. Clear that the limbic system of the average human may not be equipped to handle the unexplainable\, unable to comprehend the ineffable\, void of the necessary tools to materialise the appropriate emotions to regulate the thoughts and responses necessary for dealing with such complex reality. \nLochie Daniel offers us an exaggerated perspective into the human condition. How the need for more can in fact\, reduce. This original story is told through the lives of 71 different people\, from authors to researchers\, game devs and students. Holly Hastings\, Isiah Macaspac\, and Gracie Greenrod are the 3 brave actors who embody these characters and tell the story. The story that places a lens on ourselves that we can use to examine our minds and push through the immature and the unnecessary to see that at the end of the day… it’s just a rock.

SUMMARY:Maytide's It Is Well with My Soul: The Musical
DESCRIPTION:This beautiful tale of tragedy and faith is based on the true story of Anna and Horatio Spafford. It follows Anna’s journey from her Norwegian roots to 19th-century Chicago and later Jerusalem\, capturing the couple’s faith and resilience after losing their four daughters in the S.S. Ville du Havre shipwreck. The narrative explores themes of grief\, hope\, redemption\, and spiritual transformation\, brought to life through original music\, heartfelt performances\, and rich historical context. \nThe famous hymn “It Is Well with My Soul\,” written by Horatio Spafford\, has inspired our stage musical\, and we are bringing honest portrayals of unimaginable loss\, and enduring faith to the 2026 Fringe season. \nWritten by D. P. K. Maegraith\nAdapted by A. Broadbent and A. Gum\nMusic by A. Lymn

SUMMARY:What is the Matter with Mary Jane
DESCRIPTION:Written By: Wendy Harmer and Sancia Robinson \nCreative Team: Larry Waller \n\n‘What Is the Matter with Mary Jane’ is a powerful and intimate one-woman play that follows a young woman navigating an eating disorder. This ensemble approach supports collaboration\, shared storytelling\, and accessibility\, while maintaining the integrity and emotional impact of the work.\nThe production will be presented as part of a mid-year One-Act Play Festival at the Marion Domain Theatre. \n\nInformation Session: \n\nAudition Information: \n\n\n\nAudition Information #:1\n\n\nDate:\n14/03/2026\n\n\nTime From – Time to:\n13:00 – 15:00\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nCharacter Descriptions #:1\n\n\nRole Name:\nSancia\n\n\nGender:\nFemale\n\n\nStage Age:\n25\n\n\nRole Information:\nThis play includes themes and references related to:\n• Eating disorders\n• Disordered eating behaviours\n• Body image and societal pressure\n• Mental health distress\n\n\n\n\nMore Information at: https://stjudesplayers.asn.au/whats-on/auditions/\nAuditions will be conducted in a group format.
