SUMMARY:Vintage Hitchcock - A Live Radio Play
DESCRIPTION:Synopsis\nMurder\, mayhem and nostalgia collide in Vintage Hitchcock: A live radio play. A retelling of three of Alfred Hitchcock’s most famous stories — The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927)\, Sabotage (1936)\, and The 39 Steps (1935)— in the style of an old-time radio broadcast. Complete with sound effects and vintage commercials\, all performed live onstage\, it will take you back to the 1940’s\, and\, as it’s narrator announces eerily at the beginning\, will ‘put murder back in the home- where it belongs’. So\, relax\, lean back and enjoy yourself – until the coroner comes… \nThe Lodger; a serial killer known as ‘The Avenger’ is stalking the streets of London in 1888. Have Mr and Mrs Bunting unwittingly taken as a lodger the very same man? And what will happen to their beautiful daughter Daisy\, who is the very type of girl that the Avenger chooses to target… \nSabotage; Mr Anton Verloc owns a cinema in the heart of London with his American wife\, Winnie and her teenage brother\, but this is just a cover for his terrorist activities. Will the police discover his secret before his most daring plan is put into action? \nThe 39 steps; Richard Hannay becomes embroiled in an international spy ring known only as ‘The 39 Steps’. Murder soon follows\, and after a case of mistaken identity he must elude the police. Together with his unwilling accomplice\, Pamela\, he must clear his name and stop British secrets being sent abroad. \nPerformances\nWednesday 2nd to Saturday 5th October at 8.00pm Tuesday 8th to Saturday 12th October at 8.00pm Matinee each Saturday at 2.30pm \nCast\nVintage Hitchcock: A live radio play has over 60 speaking parts\, with all actors required to voice multiple roles and perform sound effects live on stage. Have you ever wanted to play a dashing hero\, the devious villain\, the damsel in distress or the nosy neighbour? Well\, this is your chance to do it all! The ability to speak dialects (particularly English variations) is a plus\, but not a must. What you must be is energetic\, vocally flexible and willing to work in a group. The ensemble cast will serve as voice actors and Foley artists performing multiple parts with scripts in hand\, just as you would for a traditional radio broadcast. We need the classic BBC presenter voice\, Cockney\, American\, English with a European accent and an epic scream! We even need jingle singers! Bring your best voices and your enthusiasm and show us what you can do. \nNotes: Auditions will be a cold reading in groups. You will be required to read at least 2 roles (with different voices) and demonstrate the ability to insert a sound effect on cue as required in the script (necessary properties will be demonstrated and supplied). If you have any special talents (musical\, sound effect\, voices) please let us know as we would love to utilise existing talents. \nAudition Details\nLocation: \nTea Tree Players Theatre\nGate One\, Tilley Recreational Park\nCorner of Yatala Vale and Hancock Roads\, Surrey Downs 5126 \nTime:\nMonday 17th June 2019 at 7:30pm\nWednesday 19th June 2019 at 7:30pm \nNotes: \nContact\nSelena Carr\n(e) selenahcarr@gmail.com\n(p) 0402 283 089

SUMMARY:Going Postal
DESCRIPTION:AUDITIONS: – Sunday 30th June at 3pm.\nBakehouse Theatre\, 255 Angas Street\, Adelaide. \nFORMAT:\nAuditions are conducted in groups\, doing a “cold” read from excerpts of the script. You do NOT need to make a specific individual appointment\, but you do need to show up ON TIME.\nIt is not a requirement\, but you may find it useful to familiarise yourself with the book\, or with any other works from Terry Pratchett. It will help you get a feel for the show.\nIf\, after the group reading you would like the Director to see an individual monologue from you\, please let us know when you come in to auditions. Monologues should be no longer than 1min. \nPERFORMANCE DATES: Nov. 20\, 21\, 22\, 23\, 27\, 28\, 29\, 30. \nREHEARSALS: \nWe are trying an exciting new way of working by auditioning early and then getting actors to learn their lines before “real” rehearsals start. \nInitial rehearsals:   July 14th & 21st. (reading & character discussion)\nThen a break during which actors should learn their lines.\nRehearsals then continue on Tues\, Thurs and Sunday from September 1st.\nIf you are successful in your audition a full rehearsal schedule will be given out. \nPLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST BY EMAIL\n(so that we know how many numbers to expect) \nABOUT THE SHOW: \nMoist von Lipwig is a con artist\, a fraud and a man faced with a life choice: be hanged\, or put Ankh-Morpork’s ailing postal service back on its feet. It is a tough decision. \nWith the help of a golem who has been at the bottom of a hole in the ground for over two hundred years\, a pin fanatic and Junior Postman Groat\, he’s got to see that the mail gets through. In taking on the evil chairman of the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company and a midnight killer\, he’s also got to stay alive.\nGetting a date with Adora Belle Dearheart would be nice\, too. \nIn the mad world of the mail\, can a criminal succeed where honest men have failed and died?\nPerhaps there’s a shot at redemption for a man who’s prepared to push the envelope…. \nCREW ROLES:\nIf you are not interested in acting but would like to help backstage or on FOH\, please attend at the audition time and have a chat to our Stage Manager\, Andrew Zeuner. He would LOVE to hear from you. \nACTING ROLES AVAILABLE:\nMany and varied – too many to list here\, but you need to be prepared to accept any role/roles you are offered. This is all part of the fun in a Pratchett show.
