SUMMARY:Wrong Turn at Lungfish
DESCRIPTION:Synopsis\nSet in a New York City hospital\, Wrong Turn at Lungfish is the story of Peter Ravenswaal\, a blind\, bitter and widowed college professor\, and his encounter with Anita\, a saucy\, street wise young woman who volunteers to read to him in the hospital. He’s irascible and ill-mannered\, she’s uneducated but resilient; she’s a superstitious Catholic\, he’s a supercilious Protestant.\nHe’s a widower facing death alone\, she’s the mistreated lover of a low-rent mob enforcer named Dominic. By the end of the play\, the clash of intellect and wit takes the two from animosity and fear to friendship and understanding.\nBy the way\, “lungfish” refers to a primitive fish species\, representing a metaphor for a point in evolution where humans could have taken a different path\, potentially without developing such complex brains. \nWritten by : Garry Marshall & Lowell Ganz\nDirected by : Rosie Aust

SUMMARY:The Parsifal Project
DESCRIPTION:Step into a story that’s as old as time yet profoundly relevant today. \nThe Parsifal Project is a transformative new theatre work three years in the making\, reimagining Wolfram von Eschenbach’s medieval legend. UK playwright Peter Oswald’s finely crafted script offers the story through the eyes of women\, as we explore themes of spiritual enlightenment\, personal transformation\, earth regeneration\, and community connection. \nAt its heart is the spoken word — powerful\, transformative\, and deeply resonant. The production uniquely integrates First Nations elements together with a multicultural pro-amateur cast\, and a fusion of contemporary and classical theatrical devices\, to create a beacon of meaningful Arts engagement. Be immersed in this rare experience of multi-artforms including speech chorus\, live music\, singing\, eurythmy\, puppetry\, choreography and acting! This production illumines a pathway of hope. It’s a call to action\, and an artistic journey you don’t want to miss. \nAn Acknowledgement of Country will take place at 5.15pm on 26th April prior to the World Premiere. \nPlaywright – Peter Oswald \nDirector – Jo-anne Sarre \nMusical Director – Paul Cleaver \nCostume Design – Grace Ames \nSet & Lighting Designer – Paul Cleaver \nFight Choreographer – Matcho Cassidy \nEurythmy Choreographer – Imelda Verbraak \nMusicians: \nDavid Booth – Didjeridoo/Yidaki \nPaul Cleaver – Mandolin \nMaren Yakas – Violin \nHeather Stratfold – Cello \nMax Tulysewski/Alekos Aslanidis – Percussion \nGroup bookings available on request. \nFor disability access or general information\, please email Jo-anne via quill@inkpot.com.au
